To those of you who have just lost your baby, either during pregnancy or afterward.

First of all, you are not alone. Your world has come crashing down; the situation is
completely unfair, and you keep asking yourself, “Why me?” Perinatal grief affects parents who have lost a baby at any stage of pregnancy and up to several months afterward—even as late as the end of the child’s first year.

This guide was created in collaboration with Rebeca, a mother of three boys—a midwifery student, certified doula, and perinatal bereavement counselor.
