"I started prenatal yoga quite late in my pregnancy (2 months before giving birth) because I didn't realize that I was going to give birth soon. I wanted to give birth without an epidural, but I realized that I was embarking on a totally unknown project and that if I didn't "prepare" myself a little, I wasn't going to make it. I realized that I needed outside help to prepare myself even for a possible birth with an epidural. I had put my pregnancy on hold for family reasons, and I thought it was time to put my baby back at the center of my life. The yoga classes with Alice enabled me to feel more present for my baby and to say that I was putting all the chances on my side to give birth without an epidural. It gave me new confidence in myself and in my mental and physical abilities. The "endurance" exercises really helped me prepare mentally. The classes also taught me more about the perineum, contractions and breathing. Birth preparation classes at the maternity hospital explain what's going to happen during childbirth, but they lack the "spiritual and human" side that I found in prenatal yoga. The advice, explanations and words spoken during the classes opened me up to motherhood, femininity and the dimension of becoming a mother. The music gave me moments of relaxation at home. Then I did my mini mum & baby session and fell under the spell of her personality! Marta was adorable with me, my children and my husband backstage ;)).
