"Accompanying pregnant women to experience a serene pregnancy, in motion, preparing for a conscious physiological birth, preparing for an optimal postpartum." Alice

"I needed to keep up a physical activity that could adapt smoothly to being pregnant. It was a way of staying connected to my body through movement and breathing, and taking a special moment to do myself good. I felt that it could be useful on the day of the birth, to help me get through it mentally and physically. Practising yoga has enabled me to learn to breathe differently, especially in tense moments, which has helped me to welcome (to a certain extent) the pain of contractions with perhaps a little more serenity. And also to get to know my body in general and its potential. I really enjoyed the classes, the postures very much adapted to a body a little more diminished, a little more in slow motion. And it was also very pleasant to work alongside Alice's kindness in gently accompanying us through this particular moment in our lives, and to feel like I was listening in this more sensitive state.

"I started prenatal yoga quite late in my pregnancy (2 months before giving birth) because I didn't realize that I was going to give birth soon. I wanted to give birth without an epidural, but I realized that I was embarking on a totally unknown project and that if I didn't "prepare" myself a little, I wasn't going to make it. I realized that I needed outside help to prepare myself even for a possible birth with an epidural. I'd put my pregnancy on hold for family reasons, and I thought it was time to put my baby back at the center of my life. The yoga classes with Alice enabled me to feel more present for my baby and to say that I was putting all the chances on my side to give birth without an epidural. It gave me new confidence in myself and in my mental and physical abilities. The "endurance" exercises really helped me prepare mentally. The classes also taught me more about the perineum, contractions and breathing. Birth preparation classes at the maternity hospital explain what's going to happen during childbirth, but they lack the "spiritual and human" side that I found in prenatal yoga. The advice, explanations and words spoken during the classes opened me up to motherhood, femininity and the dimension of becoming a mother. The music gave me moments of relaxation at home.
