How to do a Marie Kondo-style Home Detox with the whole family?

Well, the deconfinement is underway. Three key dates are scheduled: April 27, May 11 and June 8. It's still a bit vague, but in any case, we're going to have to start conditioning ourselves mentally for the resumption. We don't know about you, but we were just getting used to being at home. We're a little ashamed to admit it, but we'd almost like it to last a little longer. Whether we're joking or not, we don't know, we're lost (laughs)! Anyway, there's still time to do all those things on our To Do, like the famous Marie Kondo-style Home Detox, but as a family. Eliette and Marieke, founders of Clarity Home Detox, tell us all about it.

In the video below, discover the (virtual) meeting between Natalie and Marieke, specialist in the Marie Kondo method and co-founder, with her twin sister Eliette, of Clarity Home Detox. In this period of confinement, they've launched a special guide for Parents to experiment with the Art of tidying up as a FAMILY! Yes, yes, you read that right. But be warned: you'll need to have done it yourself first.

If you already do, then GO! Tools, tips and practical exercises make up this 28-page guide (+ 11 appendices). Step by step, little by little, the possibility of lasting change opens up for you and your family.

Here are the 6 questions put to Marieke in the Interview:

  1. What is a Home Detox?
  2. Where to start?
  3. How do you deal with small children?
  4. How do we store our children's toys?
  5. Marieke, can you sum up Home Detox with your children in 3 points?
  6. Where to find your Guide Spéciale Parents?

Excess deprives children of free time and the ability to explore their world in depth. Simplify, simplify, simplify and you'll create space in their lives for them to evolve. Make room for them to blossom slowly.

Important points to remember:

  • Be the change you want to see in others.
  • Start with yourself before you start sorting out your children.
  • When children are small (aged 0 to 3), sort through their belongings, keeping those that are good for you. It's important for parents to feel comfortable in their children's bedrooms.
  • For efficient sorting, arrange your belongings by category and sub-category.
  • Once the sorting is done, what to do with the children's belongings:
