Bérengère, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
My name is Bérengère and I'm the mother of Charlotte and Paul. I'm currently pregnant with my third child, due in mid-August! I'm the founder of Eve & Rose, a line of organic skincare products designed to support mothers-to-be and young mothers during pregnancy and motherhood. Our gentle formulas are made in France and have been developed specifically to meet their needs. Eve & Rose is also a committed company: 50% of our profits are donated to charitable projects.

What's the story behind Eve & Rose?
The idea of creating Eve & Rose came to me during my first pregnancy. At the time, I was pregnant with my daughter Charlotte, and I was having trouble finding oils or creams that matched what I was looking for: healthy, effective and sensorial skincare. With our French laboratory, we created unique formulas specially designed for mothers. Applying them on a daily basis is an opportunity to feel a real sense of soothing calm. With a few simple gestures, mothers can forge a unique bond with their babies in utero. The baby perceives the caresses through the placenta. The application becomes a daily rendezvous between you and your baby, where you share a moment of exchange and complicity. Last but not least, our skincare products help mothers to accept their new shape and take a good look at themselves. Pregnancy and breastfeeding bring changes to a woman's body. The application of our treatments is a moment that we offer ourselves, a unique but essential time to tame our bodies.

Why this name?
Eve & Rose, it's a women's story after all! I created it for moms the day I became a mom myself. For the name, I turned to the two people who best represent motherhood for me: my mom Eve and my mother-in-law Rose.

Was it obvious for you to be a committed company?
Yes, it was! My husband is Australian, and we often visit his country, where corporate citizenship is much more widespread than in Europe. That's where the idea came from. I was already familiar with the Enfants du Mékong charity, renowned for its seriousness and transparency. The association educates, trains and accompanies children to enable them to improve their living conditions and build themselves intellectually, affectionately and morally. Since our launch in 2016, we've since been lucky enough to participate in three major projects: a kindergarten in Phnom Penh, another in the slum of Cebu City and very recently we helped fund a new classroom in Dak Dam, Cambodia.

What are your secrets for reconciling work and life as a mom?
No secrets, I do the best I can... It's never perfect, but the most important thing is that the children grow up happy and without lacking anything. Everything else is secondary, and in any case I don't aim for perfection, which is just impossible to achieve!

When the alarm goes off, what's the first thing you do?
Unfortunately, I haven't needed an alarm clock since the day my daughter was born (laughs)...

If you had to define motherhood in 1 word?
Patience.

Are your pregnancies cool or not?
Great, except that for my first two pregnancies I was bedridden for several weeks around the 7th month. I've always carried on with my work and activities as if nothing had happened, but I've learnt my lesson and I'm going to take it easy for the third one (laughs)!

Sport or no sport? Fitness secrets during and after pregnancy?
Er... No sport and zero guilt!

The comment from others that annoys you the most as a mom?
At the moment I hear a little too often "A third child?!? But was that on purpose?"

What do you do to relieve the pressure?
Dinner for two with my husband at least once a week.

Your next weekend or vacation?
A week's travel between Istanbul and Tel Aviv with my family. I can't wait to return to these two cities, for which I fell in love twice a few years ago.

Eve & Rose in 5 years' time?
I hope that we'll continue to carry out great charity projects with our partner association Enfants du Mékong, and that we'll be able to provide schooling for hundreds more children around the world.

And Bérengère, what can we wish you today for tomorrow?
A healthy baby in a few months!
